Week 17 of The Edge Cycleworks and Total Cycle Coach Series at Salt Ayre Circuit saw reduced numbers due to the big Lancaster City Centre Crit the following evening so only 14 riders, nearly all 2nd cat, contested the E/1/2 race. After the early skirmishes it split into 2 groups, the first working together to establish a lead and the second attacking each other and going nowhere. The lead group were all together for the sprint finish where Youth A rider Grant Martin (Spokes RT) beat 2nd cat Tom Gibson (Kent Valley RC) and Junior rider Fraser Martin (Spokes RT).
In the 3/4/W race we were treated to the sight of Eve Dixon (Team 22) and Gemma Sargent (Mercury Performance), who was in her first race back from a broken collarbone, on the front and giving the men a hard time. It came down to a bunch sprint with Nic Marsdin (Lune RCC) well clear of Robert Patchett (BC PM), veteran Paolo Brucciani (Lune RCC) and Eve Dixon in 4th.
